The Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa is an exclusive resort located on the beautiful northern coast of Jamaica. Hydros was contracted to restore three beaches at the resort, and the team has successfully renovated the shoreline at the Grand Palladium Resort. Following our ShoreLock™ treatments, newly accreted sand continues to displace the crushed limestone that was used as a beach fill during original construction prior to Hydros managing the site. The beaches also showed significant resistance to erosion during two major Storms (TS Nicole & Hurricane Tomas) in 2010.
As a testament to the success of the project, The Grand Palladium has awarded Hydros’ an ongoing maintenance contract and will continue to provide assistance in support of efforts to expand operations in Jamaica
Our efforts have converted the beach at Grand Palladium Resorts Jamaica into a “Blue Flag” rated beach. The ‘Blue Flag” designation is awarded to beaches that meet certain criteria in Environmental Education and Information, Water Quality, Environmental Management, and Safety Services.
First Sighting: Turtle Nesting at Grand Palladium!
Above is a symbolic photo of baby loggerhead turtles we are very proud of, which was taken on a beach we completely restored at the 5-Star Grand Palladium Resort in Jamaica. When this beach was handed to us, it consisted entirely of construction debris and sand composed of grainy, dry, crushed limestone brought in by trucks. In just a few months after commencing with our restoration that included ShoreLock™ Technology, the beach was covered with soft, moist, naturally accreted marine sand.
